Our trusted client is currently seeking to take on an ambitious candidate to join their company in a Graduate Trainee Investment Manager role. The role will provide excellent exposure and scope to progress for a driven and passionate candidate.

As a Graduate Investment Manager, you will be supporting two or more Investment Managers and working closely with a variety of private clients. In the role, you will be providing clients with top quality investment advice and a healthy return on their investments. Some of the main responsibilities include:

• Carrying out portfolio reviews in relation to stock selection, benchmarking and risk profiles
• Undertaking regular dealing transactions with the support of management
• Researching and preparing reports on behalf of intermediaries and clients
• Making sure that each client interaction is aptly documented
• Helping with preparation for external networking and new business pitches

Ideally, you will be a finance graduate or have a related degree and possess one or more of the following qualifications:

CISI MA in Wealth Management, a specialism in Wealth Management during your degree or a CFA Level 1. If you have the Investment Management Certificate and are well on your way to completing the CISI Diploma, we would like to hear from you.

As well as having excellent communicational and client building skills, you'll be meticulously organised and have good time management skills. Having a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, will hold in good stead for the role. You will have a passionate desire to first establish and then excel yourself in the investment management sector. This is key for the role and will determine whether you can incorporate into working culture here.

On top having the right mix of industry qualifications, our client is also looking for candidates who have some prior experience in the above roles and responsibilities. If you have gained some private wealth management or alternative investment experience during your time at university, it may make your application considerably stronger and shows your willingness to work in this sector. The starting salary for this position is around the 32k mark depending on experience.
